What is Blue Origin?

Blue Origin is a privately funded aerospace company headquartered in Kent, Washington. It is mainly an aerospace manufacturer and sub-orbital spaceflight services company. This company was founded in the year 2000 by Jeff Bezos.

What are they planning to do?

Jeff Bezos and his aerospace company 'Blue Origin' are developing a moon lander which is capable of landing a large payload of 6.5 metric tons. This moon lander is named as Blue Moon. This moon lander has a large internal spherical fuel tank which sits atop of four landing pads, as you can see in the image. The engine is powered by liquid oxygen/liquid hydrogen so that it can be refuel from ice water present on the moon's poles.

According to Jeff Bezos this is not just a moon lander. Blue Moon will have both precision landing and soft-landing capabilities. This multi-purpose space vehicle will help humans to make their presence better on the moon. This is an awesome moon lander that can not only carry humans to the moon, but it can also deploy satellites and deliver up to four rovers to the moon surface and people are going to witness it in the near future.

As the Blue Origin sets its goal to colonizing the moon, our dream of returning to the moon is becoming real. If they succeed, it means we could live on the moon. This four-legged lunar lander could carry almost four passengers and it has a payload capacity of 6.5 metric tons. Its liquid hydrogen-powered rocket engine generates almost 10000 pounds of thrust.
